God opens the doors again!!!!!
Then he put a little child among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me.”
Mark 9:36?-?37 NLT
What a blessing to be able to reach more than 3000 primary children in the Western Cape/ Helderberg basin, with the Word of God!
A glimpse of last week in pictures all this from 28 Feb to 4 March. All glory to God!!
A special shout-out to each Bible class facilitator, admin person, the “peanut butter and jam” teams of Finprufe employees selflessly making and providing sandwiches, fruit and juice to hungry pre-schoolers in Macassar…and Sandra and Lizel for coordinating and handing out! So grateful and blessed and actually overwhelmed by God’s grace and goodness and provision!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Be strong, vigorous and courageous…
We serve a God of PROVISION, PROTECTION, PURPOSE and POWER
Matthew 6:31-32
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
Hey! Food project miracle story unfolding…all glory to God for His provision:
Almost 600 food parcels with a value of R200 were handed out to families in need.
Approximately 2400 meals provided from the ingredients provided to cook big pots of soup or food
On 1 June grade 7 will be back but all the siblings still staying home and we would endeavour to continue helping provide for them as most parents only re entering their places of work at level 2 and many are not earning income now.
This quote goes out to all the generous people giving since Lockdown started. A massive THANK YOU!!
“The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving” Albert Einstein
We pray for every grade 7 learner that they will know that God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Altena primary in Strand, such a beautiful testimony of principal, teachers and friends and family in their lives taking hands with Hey! and giving their all to care for the needs of their school’s families! We gave 40 parcels at the start of Lockdown to most needy families and this was the start of a miracle story unfolding! So far 353 food hampers given. Still many in need. If more funds come in more can be helped. Mrs Kruger, Marissa and Friedel Hamm thank you for setting the example of caring and using your talents to serve the children of your school the way you do!
Helping provide food to the children of the schools we usually go to, there are people who are so important and not necessarily getting the honour! Here are some pictures of the heroes making big pots of food and lovingly handing it out at places like Chris Nissen park, Temperance Town, Lwandle and Danie Ackerman. Thank you to each of you masked angels! Without you it would not be possible.
Prayer walks around our schools
29 MAY 2020
Prayer walk and anointing Beaumont primary school outside the school by the Hey! Bible facilitators. Thank you for all you do as principal and school in preparation for the grade 7’s return! Although no one can touch hands the All mighty God said He will take your hand in this season and help you: “for I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you” Isaiah 41:13
JOY, PEACE and no fear, “no trespassers/ no entry” to the enemy in this school, fathers to be raised up, protection by the blood of Jesus were some of the revelations the team received while walking. What an amazing hour!
What a blessed morning. A few of us ladies did a Prayer walk around Brentwoodpark Primary School and Verkenner Primary School. We know that where two or more are gathered in the name of Jesus, God is there. A big thank you to everyone who got up so early to join us.
Our prayer is that God will protect each staff member and learner that enters these school grounds, as well as every family member still at home.
God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Exodus 3:5

A BIG THANK YOU!!!!
O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good; How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favoured by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him. Psalms 34:8 AMP
We added a chocolate to this verse just to show our appreciation to one of our Hey! Bible teachers Herkie and the night shift staff at Mediclinic Somerset West. We salute you!
Thanks Christiana Lee a Beaumont learner for the lovely letter written from your heart for the hospital personnel.
HEY! Food Parcel Project
Lockdown means no school but also not being able to get porridge early and a meal during breaktime which the schools with feeding schemes provide to many of the 5000 children whom Hey! minister to during the school term. An initiative was started by us to get donations to enable food parcels to be provided to needy families in some of these schools. The idea to give physical bread so to speak, where we normally share Jesus “the Bread of Life” John 6:48 is so exciting. The WCED provides some help which is amazing but the need out there is massive!
John Bunyan’s quote: “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you” in action today!! We asked for donations to enable us to buy food items for needy families of the schools where we minister and we were blessed by people whose hearts were stirred
Children from Danie Ackermann Primary School living in Garden village as well as learners from Temperance Town benefitted. A HUGE shout out to Pick n pay Gordon bay’s owner Mr Ram Moodley, as well as Samantha, Verena, Sam and others there who so kindly helped us with the process. Thank you to principals, Mr Mark Manus and Mrs Zay Windvogel, as well as Jonathan Brown. This was a massive team effort. Praise the Lord!!!
Food parcels were delivered by Hillsong Africa foundation to Chris Nissen park, where many of Danie Ackermann’s children live, as well as Temperance Town Primary School! Thanks to HAF!! We are so grateful! LOVE IN ACTION. Many families will have ingredients for quite a few meals! Families at Altena Primary School, where we usually serve, also received food parcels!
This project will not be possible without donations from people whose hearts are stirred to give and make an impact. To get all these items together, packed neatly for each family, is a huge task done with so much love and care by the Pick n Pay Gordon’s Bay team. Thank you!! The families are overjoyed and we are just in awe of God’s goodness!!
Food parcels went to families in Lwandle as well. They were picked up by Rachel who are one of our facilitators at Danie Ackermann Primary School. She lives there and helped get the food to the families. We are so grateful for sponsors’ donations enabling us to purchase food. Thanks once again to Pick n Pay Gordon’s Bay for sourcing all the items and packing everything for us! Like Mother Teresa said: “We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop”. Yes, it is the one that matters!! Thank You Jesus that we can pray that You would multiply these food items.
The Hey! Food parcel project is still going strong thanks to donations as well as cooperation between principals and teachers helping us identify needy families. A look behind the scenes shows Agnes, Anna, Claudine and Berenice of CBP Wholesale hard at work packing all the products. Thank you to Friedel Hamm for all the help with this! May the Lord bless all the people involved and keep them safe and in good health! Without you this would not be possible!!
In Gauteng things have been just as busy. A payment was made to Brentwoodpark Primary School in support of 5 families in desperate need of food parcels. The school also decided to put some money toward an orphanage, ‘Huis Charis’, where a few of their learners reside.
At this stage there are 33 families who still need help in this area. Please help us to help these families.
Looking back at the last few weeks of the Hey! Food parcel project we can testify of God’s provision and His favour! Making a difference to children whose families are hard hit by the Covid19 pandemic. The numbers so far: 490 families benefitted from food parcels and more than a 1000 children received meals for which Hey! could provide ingredients. Still coordinating with our school principals to guide us which best way to assist in each area!
You can be part of this amazing journey by donating!!!

Helderberg Uitreik 2019
Goeiemore!
Liefde groete

News Nuggets Cape Town
Good afternoon
I would love to share some HEY! Nuggets with pictures!
A definite highlight must be the blessed Hope4Kids training by Chris Bester in Macassar. This is a picture of all those who completed the training. These people will now start facilitating the course in schools in Macassar, Firgrove as well as Die Ark. We as HEY! will help the individuals with the implementation and planning and guide them. How amazing to see God opening new doors to further His Kingdom!
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord ’s favor has come. ” Luke 4:18-19 NLT
We realize what a huge responsibility but also honour it is to be able to share God’s Word at assemblies at schools like Temperance Town. We had a wonderful prayer meeting there in the “Lighuis” container and we are planning to do training in November in the community to empower and equip people from within the area to start serving at the school. We know that this is the only way to really reach more children as well as adults and one by one changing communities by bringing Hope you can only find in Jesus!
There is so much power in
synergy and working together with other ministries or like-minded people. Sonia’s Thrive Centre is hosting a monthly market where people can sell the products they have made. The ladies from Chris Nissen park have enjoyed thetraining andequipping sessions so much with other people who all have the same purpose. Thank you to all who have supported them so far. They are working hard to produce more cement products to sell at next market on 5 October.
The joy of receiving your own Bible is so visible on the face of this Danie Ackermann pupil! He is one of the leaders helping in the Grade 7 class. The Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit and the power of using the Scriptures every day is so important to us at HEY! We make sure children get a printed memory verse to keep and by repetition and fun methods teach Bible verses so they won’t forget it!
This weekend HEY! had the honour of facilitating the Shofar Convergence’s Kids conference with a great team from the church. The theme was “sound of the harvest” and what better program than Hope4Kids to equip children to share the Gospel with other people. It was a wonderful weekend and children as well as team enthusiastically participated. The amazing grace of “the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life” Romans 6:23 came alive and all realized that we can be so grateful for Jesus’ free gift to each who accept Him. This is what we want to tell the world and shine our light in the dark world out there! The world needs JESUS ?
Thank you for your continued support, we do appreciate it so very much. The ministry to thousands of children every week would not have been possible without the help and support of people like you. As we grow and more places reached in disadvantaged areas the bigger the need for additional funding.
If you want to make a donation to help the Kingdom Expansion which is taking place through HEY!
